You can now award badges in the community with Open Badges.
Open Badges are verifiable, portable digital badges with embedded metadata about skills and achievements. They comply with the Open Badges standard and are shareable across the web. Each Open Badge is associated with an image and information about the badge, its recipient, the issuer, and any supporting evidence. Openbadges.org
To begin creating badges, go to Admin> Marketing Automation> Badge Issuer/Badges.
Badge Issuer> Create New
Issuer Name: Name of person, organization or institution who is issuing badges.
- Logo: Issuer logo.
- Website: issuer website.
- Email of the issuer.
- Description of the issuing entity
- Delete: set to yes and save to delete.
- Save.
Badges> Create new
- Badge Name: enter the name for your new badge.
- Badge Issuer: select from your previously created issuers.
- Badge Image: The image that will be displayed along your badge.
- Expiration Days: set it to 0 for no expiration or enter a number of days.
- Run: Automatically based on the rules you will create below or Manually to assign badges individually.
- Delete: Set yes and save to delete. Leave as No if active.
- Description: Enter a description for this badge.
- Tags: Add some tags or keywords separating each with a comma.
- Accomplishment Name: enter what was accomplished in order to earn this badge.
- Description: description of the accomplishment.
- Code: enter if there is a code related to the accomplishment.
- URL: accomplishment website.
- Criteria Description: Description of the criteria met in order to earn this badge.
- URL: web link for the criteria.
- This badge applies to: Based on your AMS criteria you can enter the automation process to award badges. To everyone in a certain group, individual members, and other specifications (recently posted, going to an event, never logged in, and much more).
- When does the badge occur? Enter a start and end date if desired.
- Save
To see newly assigned badges go to the person’s profile.
Use the URL or embedded link to add your badge to Linkedin, other social media or badge hosting sites.
