Under the Contributions Tab set permissions on who can post different resources in the group.

  1. Discussion Options: Who can post discussions? Anyone, members only or group owner only.
  2. News Updates: Who can post news updates?
  3. Event Updates: Who can add events?
  4. Link Updates: Who can add links?
  5. Resource Updates: Post or manage group resources.
  6. Archive attachments as resources:  Do you want every (document, picture, video) attachment in to be saved under resources?
  7. Enable Feedback: Allow members to leave feedback.

In this area, the permissions are:

  • Public: anyone can post (member or non members who have access to the community)
  • Members: only group members
  • Owners: Group admins or super users
  • Private: only those with permissions (set permission to Update or Admin* in roster area)
  • Association members of the group (nonmembers would not have permission)

*To assign permission for leaders to contribute:

While on the group page> see left menu> Manage Group> Roster

Find the member or leader's name and set the permission from READ to UPDATE or ADMIN.

-Update permissions allow only those members of the group to contribute or add content to the Resources, Events, Polls, News, Links tab

-Admin permissions allows those members to Update the Group profile settings, manage the roster and give other permissions, and contribute content to any of the tabs.
