Impersonate and Login as member

You are able to login and impersonate any member. This is useful for troubleshooting issues or accessing an individual's account. Watch this video to see how to impersonate a member.

You must be a super user to be able to login as or impersonate a member.

First, go to the member’s profile>

The left menu> Manage Person>

When you click the drop down, you will have the ability to update their Profile as well as Impersonate or Login As the current member you are viewing.

The difference between these two are:

1. Impersonate

When you impersonate a member, you will maintain your super user abilities. This means that you still have access to Admin and other tools. Impersonating may be helpful to post as, or simply retrieve content or private messages.

To go back to your account, you can go to the left menu> Manage Person> Stop Impersonating.

2. Login As

If you select login as, a pop up will appear in your screen with a link.

If  you follow this link you will be logged out of your account and logged into the member’s account. To avoid being logged out, it is recommended to right click the link and open in an incognito/private window.

You will see it just as the member sees it and have access to only the features you’ve made available for them.

If you didn't open this in an incognito window, you can log out and re-login as yourself.
